KDRC is launched to coordinate and drive dementia R&D and facilitate practical and effective patient care programs from 2020 until 2028.
KDRC is supported by two Korean government divisions with specific goals geared to reducing the annual growth rate of dementia by slowing down disease progression by 5 years.

In order to achieve this goal, we will support the efforts to develop innovative, enabling core technologies that can be directly applied to commercialization of therapeutic and diagnostic technology. In addition, we plan to implement an effective dementia preventative care program, customized for Korean population, as well as work together with global organizations to harmonize the dementia preventative care programs.

There are three main areas that we are focusing on : 1) Identification of the cause and the pathogenic mechanisms underlying dementia ; 2) development of prediction and diagnostic technology ; 3) and the development of prevention and therapeutic technology. Besides, we are building a database platform that will integrate dementia related information, which will become accessible to people who are interested in dementia research.

KDRC is thriving for innovation that we believe is the key to successfully building core technology platforms, which serve as a foundation for creative ideas that can be translated into novel therapeutic and preventative options. We plan to build a global network of researchers to exchange information in order to facilitate the application of scientific results to commercialization of diagnostic and therapeutic agents that will benefit the patients and their families. KDRC will continue to communicate with researchers, patients, and clinicians in order to improve the platforms and ultimately crystallize our ideas into a definite plan, leading to actions.

As KDRC progresses to build and share high quality research and clinical data with researchers world-wide, we hope that KDRC will serve as a hub to coordinate global collaborative network and become a leading dementia research center.

Thank you for your interest and your support. We are looking forward to working together with the dementia community in order to promote health among all people.
